About our
Internship Programme

  • The internship program is organized to ensure that every student who joins us can gain intensive hands-on experience in gut microbiota R&D, regulatory, QA/QC, community outreach, business development, and marketing during the period and get a real understanding of the field.

​

  • Interns will learn important professional skills and have the opportunity to work with experienced researchers and practitioners.

​

  • As an intern, you are assigned a mentor/supervisor who will guide your career and provide feedback on your skills, learning, and development.

Eligibility

  • We are looking for talented students who:

  • Are interested in pursuing a lab-based internship with hands-on laboratory experience. 

  • Are full-time university students in life sciences or a related discipline.

  • Penultimate year students are preferred. (Junior or less experienced candidates may be considered as Summer Assistants).

  • Have a strong desire to pursue a career in gut microbiota research after graduation.

  • Are available for the full-time program during the internship period.

  • Are Hong Kong citizens, or permanent residents.

  • Have good academic performance.

  • Can manage both their university studies and internship responsibilities. 

  • Are ambitious, proactive, and highly motivated.

  • Enjoy working with people and possess strong communication skills.

  • Are motivated and possess the ability to overcome obstacles and setbacks.

**Applicants with a background other than life sciences (e.g. business, statistics or social sciences) will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Application Procedure

In MagIC, there are summer internships open to you

MagIC reserves the right to modify the schedule of the Internship Program, if necessary, without prior notice. The program intake will be approximately 10-12 students every year. MagIC reserves the right to determine the final number of interns.

 

After you have submitted your online application, a confirmation and thank you email will automatically be sent to you. We will mainly contact you via email or sometimes by telephone regarding the interview schedule.
